Cool Chaise or Chased Away?

Chaise lounges are one of those types of furniture piece that you either love or hate.  Personally, I’m more of the latter.  There’s something clinical about chaise furniture out there, and I think this modern design kind of typifies that. 

Doesn’t it look like it’s about to turn into the rack, the medieval torture device?  At any moment someone could yank a lever and your spine would separate.  I realize the black leather is supposed to look especially elegant, sleek and comfortable but there’s something kind of icky about it.  I really can’t see this piece in a family home, it just doesn’t have the warmth you need to make your house seem cozy.  I could see this in some psychologist’s office, sort of a Freudian thing.  How about the wider world out there? How does this make you feel?

Contemporary Design Fittings for Your Home

Here’s a cool video introducing us to some of the possibilities in contemporary bathroom design today. Have you ever thought about redesigning your bathroom? Probably everyone has, considering that the average person spends hours a day in their bathroom, but many bathrooms are designed in a particularly boring and average way.

It doesn’t have to be that way however and some of the décor options in this video are worth considering. For example, consider the smooth or sharp angles of some of the faucet and tub designs depicted here. They can really modernize your bath in a quick, not terribly expensive way. So take some time in the bath tonight to consider what it might look like tomorrow—the possibilities are endless!

Design Up Everything In Your House—Really!

Well, we promised to try to find design furniture that will remake every room and space in your house, and we intend to keep that promise.  So here we go with a very intimate piece for your home.  Yes, these are toilets. 

We’re not sure what the deal is with the laser lights, is it some kind of security system or motion activated gadget?  The black is pretty cool though, and pretty much the opposite of what almost every toilet out there looks like, so it is a departure from what you know.  The shape itself is pretty sleek too, although it’s a bit techie looking.  Almost a modern bathroom for someone’s fancy boardroom.  But hey, if you’re done doing up the rest of the apartment, why not work on the little things?
