Chaise lounges are one of those types of furniture piece that you either love or hate.  Personally, I’m more of the latter.  There’s something clinical about chaise furniture out there, and I think this modern design kind of typifies that. 

Doesn’t it look like it’s about to turn into the rack, the medieval torture device?  At any moment someone could yank a lever and your spine would separate.  I realize the black leather is supposed to look especially elegant, sleek and comfortable but there’s something kind of icky about it.  I really can’t see this piece in a family home, it just doesn’t have the warmth you need to make your house seem cozy.  I could see this in some psychologist’s office, sort of a Freudian thing.  How about the wider world out there? How does this make you feel?
