File this piece under “Super Cool” – we love it!  Modern storage solutions are one of those things that urban apartment dwellers like us crave.  We’ve got a limited amount of space, and a lot of stuff to fit into that space comfortably.  So we always come back to multi-purpose solutions like the one pictured.

What’s cool about this design is that the storage is “lofted” in a sense—it sticks up and uses the vertical space that we (or at least most of us) aren’t actually using.  At the same time, it provides a way for us to reach the higher spaces of the storage without a ladder or step stool.  The integrated steps in the design are dual purpose since they allow us to get the rollerskates off the top shelf while at the same time also serving as storage space for more items.  Someone needs to get on this design and get it out to the wider world pronto!
